What is email encryption
Email encryption is a way to protect data from being seen or tampered with by other people. You can watch a short video about Email Encryption farther down the page.
Office 365 email is already encrypted when it is on the Microsoft servers, "at rest." However, it isn't encrypted while it's being sent from one user to another.
Advanced email security options
The Advanced Email Security add-on includes offers extra security on your email while it is "in transit," making it virtually impossible for the contents of the email to be stolen. Additionally, it has spam filtering with quarantine, message logs and reporting for administrator.
Your email is protected no matter what email client you use, including all Microsoft supported Outlook versions.
