What is real name validation for .CN domains?

Real name validation is required to register .cn domain names.

The requirement to complete real name validation prior to registration came in on January 1, 2022.

For existing registrations where RNV has not been passed, it will be necessary for registrants to complete RNV before a renewal can take place.

RNV must also be passed for registrants, if they want to change their registrant's organization , first, or last name.

Completing real name validation requires you to provide your identity by uploading an official ID to us. You can find a list of IDs we accept for real name validation here.

Note: If you don't complete real name validation, then a new domain will not be registered. For existing registrations that have not completed real name validation, you will not be able to renew your domain.
